Welcome to Buford Presbyterian Church's sermon recording site.
Below you will find links to digital audio files of recent services.
These recordings are not meant to, and should not, replace faithful
attendance and participation in a local church!
From your PC, you can subscribe to receive the latest audio as
it is posted to listen on either your computer or portable audio
player. To do this, you'll need a software program for your
PC that can manage your Podcast subscriptions and automatically
download the most current audio. We recommend iTunes from Apple
(version 4.9 or higher includes Podcast support). You do not need to
have an iPod in order to make use of the Podcasting feature.
You can simply enter "Buford Presbyterian Church" in the
Search Box of the
iTunes Store to find our podcast and automatically subscribe.
To manually subscribe to our sermons:
Step 1: Open iTunes. When you install iTunes on a Windows PC it creates
a new icon on your desktop, but if you can't find it click your Start
button > All Programs > iTunes. It should be there.
Step 2: Open the "Advanced" dropdown menu.
Step 3: Click "Subscribe to Podcast…" and a small window will open.
Step 4: Type http://www.bufordpresbyterian.net/Audio/dircaster.php
and click OK. You should now see "Buford Presbyterian Church" channel
in the Podcasts section of iTunes with the available sermons
underneath. When a new sermon is released, iTunes can download it
automatically.
To listen to one of the sermons as an MP3 file, you simply
need to click on the desired link. This should launch a media player on
your PC that will automatically play the selected audio.
The Windows Media Player and Internet Explorer are usually
able to begin playing MP3 files after a short initial pause if your
data link is sufficiently fast. If, however, you using an older
computer and are experiencing difficulties (or simply want to save the
file on your computer), you may right click on the desired link and
choose "Save Target As…". This will allow you to download the audio
file all at once and then play it from your local disk. You can also
specify the download location of the file instead of the default
download directory (e.g. "My Music").
If you do not currently have a program capable of playing
MP3's installed on your PC, you might consider downloading
Windows
Media Player or Real
Player.
When you "stream" an audio file, you listen to the audio as it
is downloading to your computer. This means that you will begin hearing
the audio almost immediately after clicking the "Stream" the button. Note:
very slow Internet connections may not be able to stream the audio
continuously... in these cases, it is best to download the entire file
before listening. The audio player used on this web page
requires Adobe flash player to operate. If you do not have it installed
in your browser, you can download it
here.
In contrast, "downloading" a file forces you to save the entire file to
your system before listening to it. This means you'll have to wait
longer to hear the file... but the upside is that you will have the
file stored on your system for other uses (such as burning it to cd,
keeping in your own library, etc).
Both methods serve a particular purpose... if you simply want to hear
the audio file once and right away, streaming is the way to go. If,
however, you may want to listen to the file again (perhaps offline) you
should download it.
If you have problems that you can not resolve, you can
