Good works in and of themselves do not pave the road to heaven,
they are still an important part of the Christian faith. Our outreach
programs help us fulfill this commitment.
Here are some activities and organizations that we support:
- Mission Trips - Members have travelled to Nicaragua and
Mississippi for hurricane relief.
- Stephen Ministry - Laypeople from our congregation who are trained to provide distinctly Christian, one-on-one love
and care to those suffering personal crisis.
- Faith Shepherds - Members mentor new members so that they
learn about our church events and programs.
- Presbyterians Answer to Hunger (P.A.T.H.) - An offering is
collected on the first Sunday of the month to benefit both local and worldwide hunger needs.
- Red Barrel - Food is collected from members and distributed to needy
families in our community through the North Gwinnett Cooperative
Ministry.
- Congregational Care Committee - Ministering to our own people
in times of crisis.
- Mitten Tree - Gifts of gloves, scarves, caps and socks for needy children collected during the Christmas holidays.
- Special Offerings - The congregation responds to local,
national, and international needs such as the Tsunami Relief Special
Offering.
- Thornwell Home Sponsorships
- Church Facilities - We open our facilities for use by
organizations that benefit the community and provide valuable services
such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Al-Anon, Girl Scouts, and Boy Scouts.
- Benevolences
- Other Opportunities for Outreach - The congregation
generously supports activities such as collecting school supplies for
Back to School, Winter Coats for needy children, Operation Shoebox gifts
for Christmas, "Soup-er Bowl" Sunday, and many other worthwhile programs.
